A Little Sojourn
So, if all has gone according to plan, I should be in New Zealand right about now, and hopefully learning how to snow-kite. In case you’re wondering, snow-kiting is the wonderful confluence of snowsports and power-kiting. Take one 10-square-metre kite, a harness, and a pair of skis, add in a mountain and a brisk breeze, and hey presto, you have a fab sport that has been around for a little while but for some strange reason hasn’t collected too many adherents yet.
Of course, New Zealand being New Zealand (and as a Kiwi I’m allowed to say this), the weather could suck, in which case we may not have the greatest time in the world, but at this point I’m pretty optimistic. At any rate, I’ve packed my camera. And my crash helmet. So with any luck I’ll get some photos. And survive.
I’m pretty stoked actually. I haven’t been to the snow in ages, and I miss my mountains, so it’ll be a nice blast of fresh wintry air and a change of scenery. See you all in a week or so when I get back.
Oh, and if I’ve been able to set it up right, I should have some posts coming up automatically while I’m gone, for your perousing pleasure, so do keep checking in! :)
Take care all of you!
